Deer season is about over, just remember there will still be black powder hunters out, please be courteous to them. Trails will be open when deer season is over, providing there is enough snow. *Remember* TRAILS CLOSED UNDER 6" OF SNOW! Respect the landowner's property, it's what helps to keep the trails open year after year.

( 2.9 / 204 )With the opening of deer season this past weekend, we tried to keep anything we wanted to get done, confined to some areas where we wouldn't be any bother to the hunters. We split off into two seperate crews and got some signing done in spots on all three of our main trails. Hopefully, weather permitting, and it should yet, we just have to finish up our re-route off Bice Rd., clear some downed trees to get around a diversion ditch that has been a trouble spot for our groomers and put in a couple of culverts in a run-off area and for this year that should leave us with just the rest of our signing to do.
The forcast for this week shows cold and lake effects snow for the whole coming week. A sign for things to come? THINK SNOW!

( 3 / 229 )We were able to take a machine in on part of a trail that we had opened 3-4 years ago, and clean up where the loggers had been and relieve some wet spots. While we were at it we leveled off some holes and moved a couple of stump mounds. (S71A)

( 2.9 / 234 )With an early season snow (in excess of 2' in some areas, closer to 5" locally) hopefully more people are starting to think about the upcoming season.
Worked on re-route off Bice Rd. to keep sleds off road and further back from houses. Had some easy brushing and some, not so easy cutting and moved a small portion of an old stone wall. Will have to go back and complete next weekend.

( 3 / 162 )We had enough members present today to send a couple of crews off in different directions. We got some mowing done along the powerline, in one section (S71A). Along the stateland on a private landowner, there has been a kind of a double knolled bank, that when riding up or down over, one would have to hit it kind of kitty-cornered. While riding one up, didn't present a huge problem, riding 2-up was a different story. There seemed to be a lot of tracks down where the trail wasn't so we went in there and leveled the humps down some and filled the holes, I believe it transitions a lot more smoothly now (S71B). We got some light brushing done along a section of stateland trail, as well as doing a small re-route, taking out a sharp corner by a town road, making it safer and easier to get around, especially with the groomer (S71B). We were also able to do some signing and brushing on one of our non-funded club trails and help take care of some of the landowners concerns with some boundry markers (S71D).
