The day started with the promise of being a great day, then the radar started filling in with precipitation. We got a little rain to start, then things turned back in our favor and actually worked its way around to being sunny. We had some trail widening and some wet spots to drain in the state land so with permission from the DEC we were able go in with shovels and drain the wet spots and had some downfall that we were able to go in and clear. Not only will this help to get the groomers through easier but will help sledders when meeting oncoming traffic. We mowed some other spots that routinely see a lot of overgrowth with briars and goldenrod, as well as some taghalters that have started overgrowing the trail edges.
We may never have the seasonal road width trails that the Adirondaks has to offer, but we are trying to make the effort at least to have trails wide enough to allow safer travel when meeting oncoming traffic and to be able to ride some higher mileage days.
8:30-4:30 4 members (For those that get to enjoy our trails and what we need to accomplish to make them that way, we're always willing to accept additional help!)
Look Back Soon!
